India is a land rich of Ecosystem, it is a home of a wide diversity of plants and animals also known as Flora and Fauna. India has different types of beautiful views or landscapes, including forests, mountains,  deserts, and coastal areas. These types of habitats and ecosystem makes India one of the most biologically rich countries around the world.

 

Flora of India

India has nearly about 18,000 species of plants, making it one of the most plant-rich country. Some types of flora found in India are:

 

1. Tropical Rainforests Plants

These are found in area where it rains heavily, such as Western Ghats, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, and the northeastern states. Some type of trees included are:

Teak, Sandalwood, Mahogany, etc.

2. Deciduous Forest Plants

Deciduous forests are found in  northern India. They shed off their leaves in dry seasons. Some examples of trees in these forests are:

Sal, Neem, Banyan

3. Desert Vegetation

These vegetations are found in dry areas like Rajasthan, only some plants can survive there who only needs a little water to grow. These include:

Cactus, Date Palm, Khejri Tree

4. Himalayan Flora

The Himalayan region has many unique plants that can survive in cold weather, such as:

Pine, Deodar, Rhododendron

5. Mangrove Forests

These forests only grows in coastal regions, especially in the Sundarbans. The famous Sundari tree is commonly found here.

 

Fauna of India

India is home to more than 90,000 species of animals. These includes birds, reptiles, mammals, amphibians, insects, etc.

1. Big Cats

India has some of the most famous big cats in the world such as:

Royal Bengal Tiger , Asiatic Lion , Leopard, Snow Leopard, etc.

2. Elephants and Rhinos

Indian Elephant, One-Horned Rhinoceros  are found specially in India.

3. Deer Species

there are many of the deer species found in India such as:

Chital , Sambar Deer, Barasingha, etc.
